Dear writer,
Yes, I'm totally calling you a writer. When I was reading books on writing and not writing, I used to wonder when I'd be "worthy" of this title. Total BS. You're worthy now, just like I was then but didn't see it yet.
Do you wish you were writing more?
Looking back over the past few weeks — or even months and years, you realize that you’ve done more thinking about writing than actually writing.
You’ve signed up for writing workshops. Maybe you've signed up for every free thing I've offered since 2017. And sure, you met some lovely individuals and left feeling inspired, ready to make a writing plan and sit down to the page.
After getting organized again, setting the scene, and finally sitting down to write, you feel like it should come easily.
Besides, you’ve been running stories through your mind for weeks, it should simply fall out of your fingertips when you sit at your laptop, right?
🐌 Except the words are moving like molasses.
Writing feels slow and tedious — it’s as if you’re walking through mud in a weighted vest.
You feel heavy from all the content you’re not putting out there.
⌛Where the heck is your muse?
She used to visit you all the time. Those times felt like a dream. You could have (and you did), sit for hours. Time didn’t exist. It was an altered state.
You read your words and you don’t even remember writing them. Where’d that even come from?
You wonder if you pissed her off. She hasn’t come to visit for some time. Maybe she got sick and tired of reminding you to write. Giving you brilliant ideas at 4:00 am. And you ignored them for sleep — ha!
It’s not about word count.
It’s about creation. Sitting down to the page and making it happen.
What would it feel like if you were writing again?
Imagine, you’re excited to sit down and write.
You have a container for creativity.
There’s a project inside of you. It’s exciting and you’re ready to start letting the words out. You know you’ll play with them later, but for now, sitting down and surrendering to the stories that want to be brought into the world would bring you so much joy.
Commit to your craft. Commit to your writing.
You have a voice, let’s create it.
Let’s sit down and write side by side.
I know you’re feeling this way because I was feeling this way too.
I was doing all the writing for my clients as a copywriter, and none of the writing for myself.
My books sat collecting digital dust. For years, I thought I’d read just one more book about writing.
I discovered both for myself and my clients, that the only way to get writing done is to put it on the calendar, show up, tap into the borrowed momentum of other writers, stay accountable, celebrate along the way, and keep us all in creation mode.
That’s why I created The Intuitive Writing School community. It’s a special membership just for writers who wished they were writing more — for their business, blogs, or books.
Become the writer you were meant to be.
In the name of getting that project out of your brain and onto the page, community, and connection, I created a super safe space where you can regularly write with others.
I can’t wait to sit down and write with you, side-by-side.
And I’d love for you to write with us in September to try it out.

📚 What I'm reading
The Culture Code: An Ingenious Way to Understand Why People Around the World Live and Buy as They Do by Clotaire Rapaille. If you sell anything (which you do if you're here), this book contains tons of insights on human behavior.

I love using emojis to add personality and inject fun into online writing. Here are the emojis and combos I'm playing with. As a Libra, these kinds of decisions feel impossible for me to make 😂

Thank you! I'll pick one at the next new moon (September 2). Did you know that a new moon is a great time to make decisions? When there's a decision I'm exploring and not sure what to do, I decide to decide at the new moon. Or I ask you 😜
🌑 New Moon Writing Prompts
The next Writing Vitamins will be out after the new moon, and now's a time to get quiet. Here are some writing prompts for you to write on around the new moon. These all have a Virgo vibe:
Writing makes me a better…
My health...
My new writing habit…
When I write faster, I'll…
I take good care of myself…
I offer thoughtful…
My writing practice nurtures…
My words heal…
Enjoy your long weekend (Canada & US), and I can't wait to write with you in September!

P.S. If you think that "real writers" write daily — that's BS. I've been working on my third book every other day lately and it's the perfect rhythm. You choose the rhythm for YOU.
P.P.S. This Writing Vitamins was PACKED. If this newsletter was a supplement organizer, it'd totally be this one. 🤣
P.P.P. S. Miss an edition?
