You have the power there. POWER is a theme that's coming in strong. ๐ Beyond grateful we're safe and dry after a powerful hurricane โ I've only lived in Florida for a few years but haven't seen anything like this. People who have lived here their whole lives said the same thing. This storm was... different. We're not near any evacuation zones and live in a new construction home. We considered getting out of town, but after weighing the risks, staying home felt like the safest option. Power stayed strong until 11 pm during the storm, and as I'm writing this to you now with the comforting hum of the generator and all the windows open, feeling the cool breeze โ which is amazing since I haven't had the windows open since early spring. It gets hot here early in the season. While the generator powers our necessities โ fridge, deep freezer, portable cooktop, Vitamix, kettle, and phone chargers, I kept the Co-Writing & Chill session scheduled for today and made it an unplugged session instead. I need to write, so I'm writing this to you now, and then I'm going to do some writing for ME. No matter what's going on in the outside worldโ100 mph windsโI am calm. When there appears to be chaos out "there," I get to choose whether or not to participate or opt out. Just like people were panic buying, I didn't have to. Because I chose not to. This is such an important reminder that I wanted to share with you as it relates to making progress on your writing projects. The outside world will always attempt to bring chaos and distract you away from your work. Your spiritual work and writing work. You choose if you want to play or not. I choose peace. I choose myself. I choose to put myself first. While this edition of Writing Vitamins might not be the quick tip you were looking for, it goes deeper. It's a reminder to stop putting off your writing until tomorrow when you think you'll have more time and the world will be less chaotic. Take 15 minutes and do some writing for yourself right now. I'll be your accountability buddy โย I invite you to reply and tell me when you're finished. I'm here to celebrate your writing wins with you ๐ ๐ค๐๐ Jacqueline P.S. Are you waiting to see if you "have time" to join us for Finding Flow (the 30-day writing experience happening Nov 1-30)? If you wait and see, you'll let others manage your time. Put the time on your calendar now, and make it happen. P.P.S. Meant to send this yesterday, and found it in my drafts. Power is back ON! ๐ |
